CORYELL COUNTY CERT

CERT is Community Emergency Response Team; a training and organization system that enables neighbors to help neighbors. In a nutshell, CERT is derived from the experiences of the city of Los Angeles, CA and their organization of citizen resources to assit is times of disaster. The program was so successful, that the Federal Emergency Management Agency instituted the program nationwide. The Department of Homeland Defense is ultimately responsible for the program now, given the events of 911.

The Coryell CERT also has a trailer for use by the training team and for use in emergency. It basically provides a mobile venue to transport all the material to construct a class according to federal standards. It also maintains equipment for the county-wide CERT team to use; to include cribbing, shelter, and pioneer tools.
